MCA offer multi-sensory tours for visitors who are blind or have low vision, an insightful Deaf-led Auslan tour for visitors who are hard of hearing, sensory friendly gallery and artmaking experiences for autistic visitors and visitors with sensory needs, a range of tailored programs for children 0-18 with disability or access requirements.

Different Journeys

DIfferent Journeys host a number of family swim events for people with Autism. Held at a number of different leisure centres / swimming pools around Victoria, this event provides a safe and supportive environment for people to swim. These swim events are open to the Different Journeys' community and closed to the public.
Camps & Activities
Flying Fox

Flying Fox offer a number of camps and "hangouts" around Victoria. Camps are "fun-filled experiences" giving campers a chance to connect with "buddies" in a "warm, safe and supportive environment." And as for the hangouts, "each Hangout is different and vary between dinner and dessert parties, games nights and excursions to different events happening in Melbourne city."

Celebrating Abilities

Celebrating Abilities offer circus classes to everyone of all ages. "This program provides a fabulous way to have lots of circus fun while learning and enhancing social interaction, enhance your social skills, developing confidence, motivation, team-building skills, balance, proprioception, strength, coordination, meet new friends, all in a safe, unique, inclusive, diverse and understanding environment."

Circus Fit Studio run an All Ability Circus Program where they welcome "anyone with a disability to join." They offer both group sessions and private classes. The classes "provide students with the ability to explore fitness, coordination and strength building activities in a fun, safe and colourful environment."

Melbourne Youth Orchestras

Melbourne Youth Orchestras run an adaptive music bridging program, which is open to students aged between 8 and 14 years, who have a disability, chronic illness, mental health condition or are Deaf or neurodiverse. It is suitable for both new learners who have struggled to access instrumental music education, and current players whose needs are not being met by standard instruments or teaching techniques.

Puggles Swim Schools can be found across Australia where deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children can learn to swim in a mainstream swimming class." Making Waves

Making Waves provide a sailing program for children living with disabilities. "The Winds of Joy is an inclusive, safe space, designed to give young people with disabilities an empowering and uplifting experience on the water. Participants are supported by skilled volunteer sailors, who will give students the opportunity to have hands-on experience with a large high performance yacht, specially fitted to accommodate wheelchairs."

Autism Camp Australia
Autism Camp Australia provide camps in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The "Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria Program runs over 4 days and 5 nights. It is a beach-side location. The program taps into existing regional group recreation/camp facilities with safety, privacy, autonomy and low sensory input as priorities." Check out their website for more information.

Special Olympics Australia

"Special Olympics is a year-round multi-sports program for people with an intellectual disability – of all capabilities." The program helps participants get active, make friends, have fun, learn important life skills and promote movement, teamwork, decision making and communication. There is also a Special Olympics Young Athletes for children aged 2-8 years with and without intellectual disability.

We Rock The Spectrum Kids Gym
We Rock The Spectrum Kids Gym provide "a safe, nurturing and fun environment to foster learning, exploration and safe sensory experiences." They have 'Open Play' where children can use the sensory-safe gym with parent supervision. They also have therapy equipment, an arts & crafts area, a calming room and more. They also run a number of programs for children with special needs. A number of locations around Australia.

The Lab

"The Lab is a tech and games based social experience for young people aged 8-18+ where the goal is to have fun and make friends." They hold two-hour sessions at many locations all over Victoria for young people to help them develop their social and technology skills.
