PLD Literacy

PLD was founded by Diana Rigg (an Australian with a Masters in Education and a Masters in Speech Pathology).

This fabulous literacy website is directed at Australian teachers but also has an amazing selection of resources for parents. If you click on the Downloads under each year level you will find a large selection of free downloadable information sheets for parents. These cover many areas of speech and language and how you can support your child in their speech and language development. They even cover when you should consider a speech pathology referral for your child.
Communication Hub

"The Communication Hub is for people with communication difficulties, their communication partners, and the wider community. It was developed by Speech Pathology Australia and AOSCI" and was funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

You will find information under the headings 'A Human Right', 'About Communication', 'Communication Disability', 'Impacts of Disability', 'Supporting Communication' and 'Resources'. In the Resources section you will find fact sheets - such as 'Acquired Brain Injury and Communication', 'Autism and Communication', 'Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)', 'Cleft Lip and Palate', 'Stuttering', 'Late Talkers' and many more.
Speech Pathology Australia

Speech Pathology Australia have some great free downloadable information sheets and posters for parents outlining the "talking and understanding milestones" for children aged 1-5 years. You will find what children can usually do and say in the areas of speech and language, broken up into different age categories.
Language Disorder Australia

"Language Disorder Australia is a trusted national network of professionals and services, providing high-quality education, support and advocacy for children and young people with Language Disorder."

Their website provides information on Language Disorder, such as 'What Is Language Disorder?', 'Signs of Language Disorder' and 'DLD - Developmental Language Disorder'. You will find information, many free downloads, articles & research, podcasts and webinars.
The DLD Project

The DLD project is an "online platform that distributes evidence-based information, resources and training created by contributors from around the globe." They also offer "loads of free and paid tools and resources to support the Australian DLD community".

Their website has some great information on DLD, downloads, research articles, online workshops as well as 'The Talking DLD Podcast' which you can listen to on their website and covers a range of topics.
